Gwyneth Paltrow is Astronomer's ‘temporary spokesperson' in new video
There's a lot of buzz around Astronomer, the data infrastructure company that skyrocketed into public attention after its executives — now former executives — gave us the viral Coldplay 'kiss cam' moment. With all this recent popularity, the business brought on some extra help, hiring a 'temporary spokesperson' with experience in Coldplay internet fame: Gwyneth Paltrow. 'I've been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300+ employees at Astronomer,' the actress said in the minute-long video posted to social media Friday. 'Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones.' The Goop chief executive happens to be the ex-wife of Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and co-author of the original 'break-the-internet' breakup statement when the pair announced their 'conscious uncoupling' in 2014. If you're searching for answers to the company's real frequently-asked questions, you won't find them in the tongue-in-cheek clip. The questions 'OMG! What the actual f' and 'How is your social media team holding' get comically cut off by Paltrow as she explained the much less juicy details of Astronomer's business. 'We've been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation,' Paltrow said. Astronomer's chief executive Andy Byron and human resources chief Kristin Cabot both resigned after they were filmed cuddling at a Coldplay concert in Boston earlier this month. They appeared on the arena video board in a 'kiss cam' segment before looking uncomfortable, with Cabot turning around and Byron ducking out of sight as Martin quipped from the stage that the two might be having an affair. Mark Borkowski, a British public relations and crisis consultant, described using Paltrow to front a video parodying the incident as 'utter genius' that shows the company has a sense of humor. 'It's a savvy use of media to create a viral moment,' he told The Washington Post in a phone interview Saturday. 'In a way you're laughing with everybody else.' Astronomer choosing Paltrow will not go unnoticed, Borkowski said. 'Astronomer is a meme now. Owning the ridiculous nature of how it became a meme is far better than apologizing for it.' A representative for Paltrow didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. As for how he advises clients caught in such situations, Borkowski said acting in a dignified way and 'using as few words as possible' is always the best approach. Paltrow's cameo is reminiscent of the scared Peloton wife discourse from 2019. After actress Monica Ruiz's worry-stricken expression in a Peloton holiday commercial became the butt of internet jokes, she laughed it off, later using her horrified face for an Aviation Gin ad. 'We will now be returning to what we do best: delivering game-changing results for our customers,' Paltrow closed out the ad. 'Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.' Radio star Amanda Keller's wild spray as she defends Coldplay kiss cam CEO: 'How would you feel?'
Amanda Keller has spoken of her discomfort over the public reaction to the now-infamous' Coldplay concert kiss cam' moment. The radio host said on the Jonesy & Amanda show this week that she has empathy for Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, who was caught cuddling the company's HR chief Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay gig last week. 'How would you feel if you were constantly defined by the worst mistake you'd ever made?' the 63-year-old said. 'And these people up on this big screen have families. What a huge mistake they've made.' Keller slammed the social media response as 'hyenas picking at the bones'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I am starting to feel uncomfortable with my own reaction,' she continued, adding that her own response made her feel 'bad'. 'Imagine if you had a humiliating moment - it doesn't have to be an affair- and it suddenly becomes viral and you lose everything'. Keller said that there were different ways of looking at the controversial moment, other than the mockery that has erupted online. 'It's interesting because there's a couple of ways of looking at this. It's united the whole world in the glee that we've all felt at this situation' she added. It comes after news that Andy Byron has resigned in disgrace amid an investigation into the scandal. Byron, 50, who was spotted on camera at the concert with his arms wrapped around Cabot, stepped down after being placed on leave on Friday. The billion-dollar company announced the CEO's resignation in a statement on Saturday. 'Imagine if you had a humiliating moment - it doesn't have to be an affair- and it suddenly becomes viral and you lose everything,' Keller said 'As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,' the statement read. 'Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. 'Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.' Byron and Cabot were caught red-faced as the kiss cam at a Coldplay concert in Boston panned to the CEO with his arms wrapped around his subordinate on Tuesday. The pair immediately ducked and turned from the cameras after realising their faces were on the big screen.

Radio star Ben Fordham shares his controversial stance on the Coldplay 'kiss cam' scandal: 'I met my wife at work'
Ben Fordham has taken a unique stance on the so-called Coldplay 'kiss cam' scandal that saw a US businessman stepping out on his wife with a work college. Despite the now notorious incident putting the idea of the 'office romance' under a cloud, Fordham appeared to want to stick up for folks who find love in the workplace. 'What about all the people that have fallen in love and are still together, and if it wasn't for their workplace romance, they wouldn't have met The One?' he said during his 2GB morning show on Monday. Fordham's view is a fresh take on the scandal which saw Astronomer CEO Andy Byron caught cuddling the company's HR chief Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay gig last week. The incident has become a cultural event that has set the online world alight with outrage - and humorous memes. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. But Fordham revealed that he had skin in the game in that he met his wife Jodie Speers after the pair shared an office romance. 'It was fishing off the company wharf,' he joked, in an interview with 9Honey, 'and there's nothing wrong with that.' 'There are some businesses where if you do it, you'll get the sack, so just be careful, but there's no formal rule in our workplace.' He continued: 'I know a lot of people find it hard to comprehend if they're a little younger, but I think people who are a little older know these things happen. 'To some people I've worked with over the years ... if it wasn't for workplace relationships, [they] would never have been able to kiss a girl.' Fordham tied the know with wife Jodie in 2011 and the pair now share three children. It comes after Larry Emdur weighed in with his own special take on the 'kisscam' scandal. The Gold Logie winner, 60, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a photo that showed him getting up close and personal with one of his colleagues. It was all in good fun, though, as Larry was merely recreating the viral footage of billionaire tech CEO Andrew Byron and his HR chief Kristin Cabot. The affable TV veteran shared a side-by-side photo that showed the viral moment next to Larry looking very comfortable with the Sunrise Cash Cow. Larry, playing the part of the HR exec with aplomb, looked chuffed to be in the company of his bovine belle, who lovingly wrapped her hooves around the presenter's chest. Larry captioned the hilarious photo with a sincere apology to his wife of 30 years writing, 'Sorry, Sylvie x.' The post was met with a flurry of laughing face emojis, with many praising the former Price Is Right host's sense of comic timing. Larry's cheeky posts comes after Andrew Byron, the head of the AI startup Astronomer, was broadcast on the big screen at Boston's Gillette Stadium with his arm around the company's HR chief Kristin Cabot. They rapidly covered their faces, with Byron diving out of view and Cabot turning her back to the camera. But despite their efforts to avoid the limelight, their apparent awkwardness caught the attention of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. 'Oh look at these two!' the singer said mischievously as they spun around. 'Oh what? Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy.' Public records suggest both Byron, 50, and Cabot, 56, are married - but that they live at different addresses to each of their spouses' registered abodes. The clip instantly went viral, racking up almost six million views on TikTok, as fans flew into a frenzy at the uncomfortable moment.

Fake daughter, phoney son & AI generated wife – how shameless influencers are cashing in on Andy Byron kiss cam scandal
SHAMELESS influencers have turned the Coldplay kiss cam scandal into a viral bonanza of misinformation, AI fakes and outright impersonation. Online opportunists have been scrambling to cash in from the chaos - all for more online views and clout. 13 13 Caught canoodling alleged mistress and HR boss Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert in Boston, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron has since resigned from the $1.3 billion company amid an internal probe and global scrutiny. Even though the shocking kiss cam clip is real, there has been a minefield of fabricated family members, botched AI statements, and dodgy drama-hungry TikTokers. It started with a TikTok user named thatmarinagirll, who posted a moody clip of herself by a bonfire, captioned: 'Reconnecting with life after your dad's affair makes national news.' The video exploded – racking up 5.1 million likes and over 37 million views – with viewers believing she was Byron's distraught daughter. Marina went on to post her friend's reaction to her "dad's" ordeal, and in a separate post, the fake daughter posts a snap of her crying, with the caption "probably needed a hug". She even teased to film a 30-part video series explaining everything. But it all turned out to be a lie. Family photos on Kerrigan's now-deleted Facebook page also back this up. Even Elon Musk's AI bot Grok weighed in to debunk the claim, stating: 'There is no credible evidence of anyone named Marina being Andy Byron's daughter… This claim seems baseless or mistaken.' Coldplay fan who filmed CEO 'cheating' with HR chief at gig takes swipe at couple 13 13 Another viral TikTok user, Joe Castle Baker, posted a dramatic video claiming to be Byron's 'angry' and 'devastated' son. He even blamed Coldplay for not providing 'confidentiality' during their concert. Despite a flood of sympathy in the comments, his claims were also debunked. The other man is not related to Byron in any way, he simply jumped on the trend, reports National World. The real Byron sons remain silent and offline for now. TikTokers like Marina and Joe could earn good cash from video views through the TikTok Creator Fund. If they decide to monetise the videos, they're paid a small amount per 1,000 views based on engagement and other metrics. In their case, videos that make millions of views would bring a good chunk of money into their pockets. In a separate viral clip, a bizarre AI-generated 'Megan Kerrigan' appears in front of dramatic footage of the kiss cam scandal, delivering a tearful monologue and misnaming her husband as 'Byron Andy.' The synthetic voice says: 'I am Megan, Byron Andy's wife. 'Seeing that recent video completely shattered my heart.' She then claims the video 'pushed me to the brink of collapse,' blaming both her husband and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for magnifying her pain. Worse still, a Facebook account impersonating Megan Kerrigan Byron has been spewing a torrent of fake updates. 13 Created on July 18, the bogus account posted: 'Not sure I can ever forgive Andy for such a disgrace.' That post alone gathered 1.8k reactions and over a thousand comments. Other posts included a golf course picture and fake updates: 'Thank y'all for the sweet messages, the encourage and the love… I'll take time to respond to y'all later.' The impersonator didn't stop there. In a longer fake post, 'Megan' announced a divorce and plans to seek alimony — asking followers for 'moral support' and even hinting at financial assistance. The fake wife's final act was posting the kiss cam video itself, captioned: 'This is really heartbreaking, wish this video can be taken off the internet!' In reality, the real Megan Kerrigan has removed her married surname from social media and deleted both Facebook and Instagram entirely. The real story While the avalanche of impersonations is fake, the kiss cam video that sparked it all is painfully real. And more footage captured from behind their seats, obtained by TMZ, shows the pair silhouetted by stage lights as Coldplay performed 'Yellow'. Byron and Cabot were caught cuddling at Coldplay's Boston show, their faces splashed across Gillette Stadium's jumbo screen as Chris Martin quipped: 'They're either having an affair… or they're very shy.' Seconds later, Byron dropped his arm and ducked behind a barrier as Cabot covered her face. As he caught view of himself, Byron appeared to say "f****** hell, it's me". Martin added, laughing nervously: 'Oh s***, I hope we didn't do something bad.' 13 13 13 13 The fan who captured the original kiss cam moment told The U.S. Sun she had no idea the couple were senior tech executives. Cabot, who goes by Kristin Cabot Thornby on LinkedIn, remains married herself, according to property records obtained by the Daily Mail. The alleged mistress is also reportedly married into one of the most elite and wealthiest dynasties in American history. The scandal has also sparked a deluge of fake statements and memes — from a phoney Coldplay apology to a fake Byron 'confession' quoting Fix You lyrics. One viral fake claimed Byron was taking accountability for a 'deeply personal mistake,' ending with: 'Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you.' Astronomer's spokesperson swiftly shut that down, telling TMZ: 'This is not a real statement.' Another viral joke post, allegedly from Coldplay's official X account, promised future concerts would include 'camera-free audience sections for people and their sidepieces.' Grok again jumped in, saying: 'This screenshot is fabricated… Likely a joke.' Even more bizarre was a fake firing claim by a man named Alex Cohen, who wrote that he was let go from Astronomer for booking the Coldplay tickets that led to the kiss cam moment. The chaos has also rippled through Astronomer, with employees and ex-staffers reacting with glee and disbelief. 'Group chats were blowing up,' one former colleague told the New York Post. 13 13
